healthcare personnel

This section is intended for healthcare professionals involved in the collection, handling, and submission of samples to the NOPHO Leukemia Biobank. Here you will find practical information, guidelines, and resources to support biobank-related procedures and research activities.

The purpose of sending samples to the biobank

Samples are collected to give paediatric oncology researchers easy access to samples for various research projects.

The biobank is also an international meeting place for researchers across Europe who want to advance treatment and knowledge about the causes of childhood cancer.

Valuable research has been carried out using the samples collected via the biobank. This has led to improved treatment and increased survival rates.

Referral form

For healthcare professionals

Once the patient has received a study number, NOPHO/Castor, this should be stated on the referral.
In our future work, the study number will be used for all communication and, for example, when releasing samples.
